Although this isn't a round of CM or SSSC, I'm about 90% sure I'm going to enter this in the S2000.

Does anyone else fancy joining me?

Even if you don't get your megabuild finished, you could do it in your other SS1. A few stickers, a bit of yellow tape and you're done :lol:

I've just entered this with my S2000.

The RSSOC are an invited Club, so there's no need to join Liverpool Motor Club to enter. Classic Marques is not an invited Club according to the SRs.

Does anyone else fancy this ?

Not sure if I've missed this elsewhere but how did your times compare with the DET and Sabre :?:

It's on my project progress thread Steve, but here's the important details:-

I've run the figures through the spreadsheet taking into account driver weight and the CM 2.25% 1B handicap. As I predicted it puts my times from the DET/Sabre/Honda within a fraction of each other;

DET - 50.60 (actual 52.73) (25/04/2015) (Handicap 95.96%)
Sabre - 51.19 (actual 54.38) (25/06/2016) (Handicap 94.14%)
Honda - 51.41 (actual 56.33) (29/06/2019) (Handicap 91.28%)

The figures are a little flawed because they weren't all run on the same day, and I was driving the Honda without any previous experience (So made plenty of mistakes :lol: ). Given a few more events, I'm convinced that I'd blitz the handicapped times I did in the DET. And this is without lifting a spanner. Add in some trick bits, and it'd be very competitive.

I'm not for minute suggesting you all sell your Scimitars and buy a Honda, I just think this was an interesting exercise. I'm keeping hold of the SS1, and will no doubt be out in it again next year. I've spent enough on it, without spending on the Honda as well :wink:

Cheers Steve.

Were there any other S2000's in attendance on the day to compare your times with :?: I think Martin Rowe is an Aintree member or is it Roger Fish :?:

Yes, I was 2-4 secs behind them. But in my defence; I was learning the car, on 1A skinny tyres compared to their big 1Bs, and they also had lower diff ratios, coil overs, torque dampers and many other little tweaks. For a boggo stock car with well worn suspension I think I did OK :lol:
