And because I always get it wrong! Which class for a road going SS1 Ti?
7 1C: Saloon Cars over 2000cc (Must run 1A tyres)
or
9 1E: 2 & 4 Seater Sportscars over 2000cc (Can run 1A or 1B)

I am thinking of getting some Rain Sport 3s (1A) to replace my Proxes R888 (1B) so I could run in either.
What are others doing?

Also who is up for a garage?

I couldn't spot a CM class either - just Porsche, Morgan and TVR.

They didn't have one in previous years either.

From memory Blyton and Combe are the same

On the plus side your chances of a pot on the day are better because if there was a CM class pots are awarded on handicap time not actual time

combe had CM at both events last year (and SSSC were an invited club) and so did Blyton.

Think you'll find most handicap series do the same Steve. SSSC never had an official handicapper, so we always scored after the fact

Yes maybe but I just think its wrong :w As you have stated before there's no incentive to be just "fast" .

And yes I know you can enter another class if you wish (as we are this year) but you'll still get a handicap time and be issued points based on the CM scoring system.

No system is perfect I know even the class structure based on type of car and engine size will have anomalies which are an advantage to some and a disadvantage to others

I've not checked but I know there were a few events where it was a pain for CM scorers because the cars were running in different classes

I agree, pots on the day should be scratch imho, but that's not the view of most championships.

Even one make/model racing varies, so comparing differing marques, models spanning 40+ years is only gonna be close at best. Answer is find what wins and copy it or buy it if you want pots on the day in CM :)

As for incentive to go fast, most find it's when the lights go green 8)

Just printed the forms off and the classes are very different from last year.

Last year under the Specialist bold heading there were classes for "Modified production cars" not specialist. This year only specialist are listed :?
