3 Sisters 15 June 2019

Post by Corky » Sat Jun 15, 2019 8:18 pm

Well, what can I say about today's event .............. :w

The organisers had decided to go by the new rules, and give each competitor just one practice run. Which would've been OK, except that the practice run for everyone was bone dry and the first competitive runs were split between dry and absolutely throwing it down. The net result was a very topsy turvy set of results. The rain continued all day, and all bar one of us got a dry timed run.
Rain is a great leveller, more horsepower can actually become a hinderance to competitive handicap time. But we ploughed on, and times for those of us who didn't get a dry timed run improved all day.

Andy King must be congratulated for his dry run, and subsequent rain dance and chanting which worked an absolute treat ............. (for him)

Seriously though, well done Andy. A great time regardless.

So the times I have are as follows (Best of four runs)

Andy King 94.18 (Dry, baking hot, tropical)
Steve Cork 94.48 :dh (Chucking it down)
Ben Curry 94.87 :cloud: (Monsoon) (Though Ben took advantage of unlimited runs in the late afternoon and posted a cracking 92.92 on a damp track)
Darryl Crosby 96.48 :bh (Cats and Dogs)
Phil Howard 101.31 :hand: (Typhoon)

I'll post the updated results shortly.

Great day of entertainment was had by all, just off to wring out my wellies....

Was a great event, :D really enjoyed it even when the rain hit. It was still very close in the wet, would be interesting to see how close my wet times would be to Phil's on handicap.

Current- Megan Mark 3 (1400) and Number 1 (1300) :D

Do you know what your best wet time was Andy? I can put it through the spreadsheet for you.

That would've made a difference of 0.45 of a point in Phil's favour.

Official Results. CM count the first three timed runs, SSSC count the first four.

I wouldn’t worry about it Phil, I only managed to shave a tenth off and Ben and Darryl went slower. The track was drying though and Ben got his time just under a 93 on his sixth run (fortunately for us, that doesn’t count  ).

Congratulations Andy, I'm still chuffed with my best time, less than two seconds behind the victors dry run :D the weather did put a dampner on the day but that's racing.

I break stuff...... :w
