Curbrough Compies Meeting

Post by CNHSS1 » Wed Aug 09, 2017 8:52 pm

I feel we should at least try and have a Compies Meeting Saturday evening after the Test is finished and cleared up. I unfortunately won't be staying late Saturday as need to get back ( for my beauty sleep  ) but an hour or so should get a much better idea of progress 're SSSC continuing and the future.
I reckon I would be free from approx 6 to 630pm once Test session is finished and all packed up Nd I've prepped for Sprint following day.

Suggestions for topics to be discussed:-

First and foremost I need numbers for next year--not enough people wishing for the Championship to continue and it's a short meeting

If we are to continue for 2018 we will need a Championship Co-ordinator as Nick Hall is stepping down after many years of Stirling service. I cant thank Nick enough for what's he's done and will continue to do until seasons end, fabulous effort, hugely appreciates by me and others in sure.
.

The scoring system--Scrap, evolve or replace?

Handicaps--as is or further individual manipulation, either by car type, driver age etc

Calendar--keep as is, cull low attended venues, reduce overall number of rounds, slightly or drastically?

Ways to further encourage newbies-- 2 x season reduction of handicap, a separate Newbies Championship, over 50s over 60s Championship to encourage into be more inclusive

Sub committee creation? Parity officer? Newbie Liason?
What else?

Any other business, grievances moans and groans?

I too would like to step back from Comp Sec duties as I seem to spend more time arranging for others to compete and not enough for myself, but thats up for negotiation. I think new blood will benefit the scene anyway, and I will still be willing to be involved, nothing's cast in stone

Let's add points or at least try and get an agenda to discuss so we are all on the same page when we start.

Put your suggestions for points below

I somehow missed this post, but I've not got anything to add to the above.

I'll be there for the meeting, as I'm staying at the Premier Inn down the road on Sat night (nothing I need to rush off for).
