RR
Probably too late for Shelsley, and will not suit your car. Others look good, Combe does get booked up.

I wouldn't have thought your car would suit Combe (at least with the current ratios)? Debden flat out all the way, or Gurston and Prescott if you can get in?

Chatted with Mrs RR last night before she nicked the SS1 this morning to go to work in it (Hyundai is on the drive waiting for parts) and I think I'll stick entries in for Prescott and Debden as we concluded those were the events left on the calendar that we wanted to do for our different reasons (catering factors heavily in that).

Combe is not suited to my car but was convenient and I did enjoy it. Seeing as by October it's should be a lot further away from us I can't justify it unless visiting family. The bad news for you all is that Josh will be about 15 mins away at university so I can drag him along if he's sober and meet Mr Oakes with the DEbT at a venue.

ANYWAY. Back to Curbs.

Out of interest I watched my run side by side with Corkies run and yes he hares off and is miles ahead. But. Pausing it to play catch up and comparing sections is much more interesting for comparing the different cars / drivers / lines.

I did take some joy in finding that matching the first "lap" point to point near enough gave just a 2 second difference for that whole section which in comparison to the total difference in our runs of 7 seconds is pretty good going I think.

But what have we learned from this most of all?

I'm a silly sod who ought to sort himself out with more power.

We have entered Shelsley which will be our 7th Event in the DET. Not sure if we will get in; if not we may HAVE to do Debden.

And yes RR as much as we all enjoy you getting the most from your 1300 you need to up the power and speed :!:

Oh don't go saying it like Debden is such an unpleasantry!

Whilst I have done naff all to up my power this last year, I do greatly appreciate your efforts in spending several thousand to get rid of a few bhp

Unfortunately Josh just gets quicker none the less. Things have been said in private as to what can be "done" to answer this and whether it can be made to look like an accident.

Even if we did break his legs he'd probably come out with a GTE automatic and do much the same anyway.

Hope you get into Shelsley for that 7th round chaps.

Err stop with the white flags!!!

Josh was beaten last season and the one before that, he's not the second coming FFS! What he is is very quick and committed and consistent, that's the combo to his success, nothing magical or mystical.
Couple that with some of his rivals in last 2 years doing less events so less to drop, using old (or ancient!) Tyres or different tyres and it all adds up.
Team Oakes have spent wisely and created a package couple with effective driving, it's nothing that the rest of you 'orrible can't do, just easier to whinge or put him on a pedestal

From what I know of Josh he revels in competition and I'm sure will go quicker still when/if he gets some!

I'd like to see a few swap cars for a few runs next season at a test day to get a sense of how the other half live. Those that think Josh will be slower in a GTE will be in for a nasty surprise and I think some will be surprised that the small cars with turbos aren't exactly autopilot either.
Ben and I swapped cars in '09 for 2 x Dbl lap runs at a curbs test and were both very close to the pace of the other in their regular car. First-time I'd ever sat in a GTE too!

Tis much easier to rattle off a line from the Racing Drivers Book of Excuses 2017 though ;-)

Get back in the garage guys and build or buy a car for 2018 and show Josh what you are made of! 8)

To be fair he did beat every single Ferrari.

All of them.

Blown out of the water.

And that pesky Imp thing.

Doesn't even brag about it.
I hate him. (luv you really babe x)

Coming from an impartial non compie (yet) it's clear to see Josh has a talent. Well done mate. Maybe I need to bring A HOT N out next season and join in

I don't think I've been beaten by a Ferrari in 10 years when competing at curbs so Josh is in good company.

I was the only scimitar to go sub 60 on double lapper, one year every run was sub 60 iirc

Some perspective please chaps, put the effort in and the results come :hurrah:

Josh please tell this lot you are mortal, do bleed and that they just need to step up?? Its like chinese whispers by next year the story will be you ripped a hole in the time space continuum on one run and that *some say* you wee 4 star

Whilst do I appreciate the compliments, after experiencing the roughness last night at Leeds Fest, I'm most definitely mortal; just a bit thick :)

Less than a point?!

I wasn't really going to do any more events but....
You're shooting at an open goal now. I can't do any more this season. If I could, I'd definitely be out though  .

Be scared, be very scared as the Golden Wonder will be out next season. Woahahahaha
