Cracking run Craig. Your car looked really well planted.

just had to be careful on the gas, feed it in rather than stamp on it as once the rears broke traction it was difficult to get it back again

Offs

looks to me like the front end was washing out into the Esses and the hairpin. Once it gripped you had a fair amount he of lock on and firmer rear tyres just couldn't play ball

fast run

looked smooth, much better and pretty good traction out of the farmhouse exit hairpin uphill. You looked to be turning in a little early for some of the bends, which does mean you need more lock and does tighten the exit which can cause training tonight issues at the rear

Fair points. I was hugging the apexes a bit to try and find the shortest way round, but as you say that often means more more lock. I was amazed by just how slippery it was, there was far more grip than that at the Curbs test session. With hindsight, it may have been easier to drive it with the new tyres at the front and putting up with a bit of understeer. I've written Harewood off as a bad dream  , and I'm now seeing what else I can fit into the calendar to try and redeem myself a bit  .

Not criticisms mate, just observations, there was plenty I should have done better.

In hindsight I should've run decent tyres at anglesey and gone for points over saving £££ s

RE harewood as JGL said it's not the grippiest pllace in the dry so it's about balance and a confident feel from the car imho.

its a great hill 8)

I would imagine in the dry it's brilliant. Quite technical !

Roll on next year, I'll have another crack at it :D

Presuming times recorded by Steve above are correct, points as below

Josh Oakes 21.27
Steve Cork 19.97
Craig Hughes 25
John Louch 20.93
Steve Oakes 19.7
Steve Louch 22.60

Craig's time looks Mega....well done all.

Will do a season to date update soon

I didn't really have a decent run, they were all pretty similar. It's clear to see I was too eager with the throttle...

First one looks like the rears lock up?

Changed down way too early before the esses for the wet, as Nick says just locked the rears. You are a bit eager on the throttle but worse is the heavy application (think we will have to give you Phil Morgan old moniker ;-) ). Coming out of the hairpin you are lighting the rears up but then turn in too early to Chippys which provokes oversteer on the exit. Next few are good, but exit of the left hand uphill sweeper you have the loud pedal in the bulkhead and are half way up before the rears stop spinning! Feed the power in and just keep them gripping and the car will be quicker.
You change down too early for the uphill right hander over the line and have to re - accelerate.

Generally in the wet I try to change down later in the braking phase than the dry to stop it locking the rears and feed the power in on corner exit rather than mash it like the dry.

I have to say your reactions on the locked rears on the entry to the Esses was nothing short of superb! How the bloody hell you held that I don't know!! 8)

Had it been dry your throttle style would've worked well, you have a good car control but in the wet you were creating some of the issues you had to correct imho.

Still in awe of how you can drive so well without a road licence though 8)

Blimey good runs guys. Josh u drive in a very similar way to me ie: too flat on the throttle! It'll work fine in the dry (watch those gear changes..) but in the wet you may want to consider driving a gear up meaning over zelos throttle won't bite so much. Doesn't seem natural but really works if like me your not good at patiently applying the throttle! :D great runs guys

Thanks both :)
You're right, I'm just a bit too quick in everything i do. I might just get the hang of this driving thing by the time I'm 70 :)
