Hi Guys,
Many thanks to the Organisers for their dedication on what was a pretty awful day BUT ensuring a great day's racing/testing was had by all !!! As a fully paid up pensioner, driving on tyres (according to JK) that were older than 'Spotty (a rescued 83 6B), it was an unforgetable experience driving the 'upgraded' circuit at 'Curbs' for the first time in an Auto - never to be attempted again !!! Thanks to all the support and brilliant action piccies taken by you guys that bring the day back to life.
Lastly thanks to Dave Poole for letting me take his SE5 around for a gentle lap having never driven an SE5 before even though I own two and also a big thank you to Steve Cork for letting me loose in his DET engined Sabre (which has twice the power of my standard sprint Sabre 1800Ti - 'Kinky'). It was an awesome difference in power delivery, even though I was taking it very easy, and will be a big incentive for me to progress fitting the DET engine I have aquired into the planned SS1 sprint car far faster than I had planned.
Regards,
Viv

Nice to meet you on the test day Viv.
Was good fun watching you tear up the track in an automatic ;)

Nick,
Virtually impossible as I'm halfway through getting the 5a ready for 'Le Mans Classic' and then it's Tina's for Curbs - but I will be (and have been) preparing/resourcing bits from time to time for the sprint car (ie. 6 point Roll cage/Charge Cooler/DET engine (but requiring major mods)/Big Brake Upgrade/New Upgraded Front Wishbones/New set of Springs to my spec/New set of Shockers and a few other little goodies - ongoing !!!  :w
Regards,
Viv

What about sprinting one of your road cars Viv? Or getting the sprint ss1 suitable for road going and developing it from there, season by season? A lot of the cars in modified are the result of 5-10years of development atleast, and in some cases a good few years in the garage before that.

Lukeyboy,
U must have been watching when Jim King was driving 'Spotty' then - HaHaHa ! I think on the day the only thing 'Spotty' didn't manage was a full spin and running backwards !!!

Viv

Hi Nick and all,

A belated thanks for oganising the test day. I was really pleased with my Scimitars performnace, despite it being on old tyres and raining! It drove quite well, especially with decent drivers behind the wheel

Sadly I was only armed with my mobile phone camera, so no action shots really, just a few from the day.

Your car was surprising Dave (very well planted) - I took it very steady but I see Viv pushed it a bit more :-)
