As it hasn't been posted yet, I thought I'd extend congratulations to the class winners of 2011 (apologies if the trophy title isn't exact, please add/amend if I've got anything wrong or missed anyone - including the second places that I didn't write down in the meeting):

Chris Lloyd trophy (for technical innovation): Richard Carter
Standard class winner: Brian Crouch
Sports Libre winner: James Carter
up to 180 BHP/Ton: Nick Hall
180-225 BHP/Ton (first place): John Louch
180-225 BHP/Ton (second place): Steve Louch

Guys,

Now we have done 5 events, provisional results enclosed.

Please note as I still await power and weight figures for 2 compies at Loton these will change.

However, it is unlikely Trevor's impresive 4 maximums will change.

Turnout todate is up on 2011, which is encouraging :D

PS Curboro in May is Cancelled

Trevor now has a good lead, but Steve Louch can still be a threat as last year if he cam complete enough events.

See you at Curborough

Guys,

Championship results post Curboro below
SSSC_SPREADSHEET_2012-New.pdf
(22.78 KiB) Downloaded 109 times
Trevor Shortt continues to lead with 6 perfect scores, incuding a win over Steve Louch by just 0.19 seconds at Curbs. However, enough events remain for Steve to catch him!

John Louch is a solid third after one of his best results of the season at Curbs.

I have taken the liberty of including Nick and James Keyser's results based on a "guestimate " of their car's weight and power. The scores demonstrate how well a properly set up and driven low powered car can do in the handicap system. Clearly this will not count towards any awards in the Championship. Chris Eades' result in the ex Jonathan Allat car is also impressive

Paul Andrews just "pipped" Brian Crouch in the roadging class, this is going to run for the rest of the season and will be very close. When allowance for B tyres is made both would have beaten Alan Hersey

The rest of the season looks exciting!

Slightly belatedly, confirmation of the above

Congratulations again to Trevor Shortt as winner of both the Handicap and Faster Car awards :D

Paul Andrews narrowly beat "Flat Cap" Brian Crouch to be Roadgoing Champion

Nick Hall wins the up to 180 bhp/tonne Modsport award
John Louch the 180 to 225 bhp/tonne award
Richard Carter the over 225 bhp/tonne award.

No competitors in Sports Libre

On a slightly negative note the level of entries overall is a concern. We really do need to see a significant number of new/increased events competitors next year if our Championship is to flourish. Current Compies need new challengers!

I still await some data, but I believe this to be correct

"Flat Cap" leads with 4 evets completed, Trevor has 3 perfect scores. Who is going to Harewood?

As at end of June below.

Whilst Brian leads the Championship he has done 5 events. Trevor has a perfect 100 from 4 events but Steve Louch is very close on 99.2. James Carter 75 from 3.

Guys,

As below.

Trevor still leads, but only by less than one point after Steve Louch's 25 at Loton. James Carter has a perfect 100 from 4 events.

I still think Curbs is a likely Championship decider, can't wait

Guys,

Handicap results to date enclosed.

Steve Cork leads with 95.45 from 4 events. Arguably best placed is Steve Louch with two maximums and 73.77 from 3. Note these are still provisional and several compies have yet to send me copies of weights or power.

A number of Compies have requested copies of the spreadsheet. Being about 6 years old and in many formats this is currently a bit of a "dogs dinner" and will really need re-doing at the end of the season. Results are still accurate

okay - as discussed in this thread here's a first stab at listing the results in class order. Please note that this table is not official and has no Excel jiggery-pokery, it's simply Nick's official pdf (above) re-arranged. please let me know if there's any errors.

Goodwood results from Nick (below) - I'll update the class order listing when I get a chance.
Nick wrote:Guys,

I found Goodwood scary in the dry so respect for giving it a go in the wet. I recall getting wheelspin in 4th at Castle Combe  Provisional points below. Steve is correct re Nick's tyres. Having registered on slicks he has this handicap even if he runs a lower spec tyre. Can you check the times below please

James Carter 119.08 25 points
Richard Carter 125,51 23.11
John Plumb 130.09 22.71
Nick Keyser 141.17 16.18

Congrats to James, an impressive time in these conditions.

PS

I still await confirmation of power and weight from quite a few guys. You know who you are
