Sierra XR4(x4) - 2.0 had the 3.92 and the 2.9 the 3.62 I think? All bolt on shafts, so a bit of tweaking necessary (that means try and get the matching driveshafts). Granada and Cosworth ones are 7.5" Diffs and a bit big...

yep - Ti has the same diff as any other small sports - the 7" Ford unit. available from Sierras & Granadas in a wild array of ratios with and without LSD, with push in shafts or bolted (and bolted come in 2 sizes 100mm PCD or 108mm). you can get push in shaft LSD aftermarket but the cheapest option is to change the ends on your existing shafts to bolted.
Bigger engined Fords had a 7.5" diff in a similarly wide range (that won't fit the small sports without surgery and would probably go outside standard) :-)

"how-to" change the diff to bolted in HHH (here) and lots of good info on ratios etc here (could the latter be copied into a sticky?)

Only has a quick read but looks like the Sabre will be a more difficult job than an SS1 due to access issues :(

yep, the Sabre will all need to be done from underneath, so some BIGGGGGG axle stands (or a lift) required :-)

it may be worth making some holes in the rear cubby to get a socket on the top of the diff mounts (tape up or fit grommets?) - note that the front bolt isn't on the vehicle centreline!

After wondering for years how hard it was, I was pleasantly surprised with snotty - once all of the oil is removed, it's not too bad until you need to fill the CVs again :-)

Bugger! Using bread knifes eyefoney, piece of crap.
Anyway, just seen everyone else has answered.

Viscous ford cheap and easy
Plated expensive and has to be setup as part of cars setup
Quaife best all rounder and can use std driveshaft CVs
