Lydden Hill 6 April 2013

Post by efi_sprintgte » Sat Apr 06, 2013 6:32 pm

just got back from lydden. Double drove black beastie with the old man. James Carter: practice- 89.02, first timed-87.50, second timed run 86.60. Richard Carter: practice- 89.51, first timed- 87.16, second timed- 86.84. All times in seconds and are for the 1.75 lap. I got first in class with dad second, other cars in class vw vr6 and BMW 2002 supercharged. Had the worst start to a sprint season in years, had to de ice the race car and then un load with full race gear on to keep out the cold! Then on practice I got bulked by the above vw who bounced off an Armco, so I got a re run to find a formula ford facing the wrong way in the middle of the track around a bend... Did I mention it started rain/snowing at this point?! Thankfully timed runs went without issue! A comparison to our times was 2nd place in a 8 strong TVR class clocked a time just over 87s... Cheers James

Well done James :D and the old man  you guys must be the resident experts at Lydden hill, the Black Beasty must be an awesome sight going around there!
Hope you have a succesful season as you both deserve it

I was there and it was a good battle. Seem to remember a missed gear due to a dodgy gearbox in tango had the dash data log around 8500rpm!! :d
