Sorry I missed it, sounds like a cracking day. So the bar has been set very high for the July sprint  :(

Steve Oakes and myself are down for that one, who else is going ?

Think that puts Steve at the top of the table after the first 3 rounds

Aintree in June I think has the 3 runners form yesterday, swoakes, scimitar cars. Org and me. Hopefully compsec will join us so should be a good show

How do, chaps. Just landed back from a great day at Aintree, usual good club organisation, squillions of caterham academy doing synchronised spinning didn't slow proceedings down much. Mention was made at the drivers briefing that the "hollow" at the apex of Beachers had been re-surfaced, and should be smoother. First practice, I ran too wide, missed the new tarmac and made a good time! Tried harder 2nd practice and greased the apex. I've never been airborne in the bakery truck before! I sunk into the dip, the tired springs bottomed then launched off the up-slope into space, drifted sooo wide and lifted to maintain dignity. After lunch I did the same and thought that my 1st practice time (not counted) was going to be best. However, I had a think and apexed later, missing the hollow and surprised myself with a cracking 60.94, about 1 1/4 seconds faster than 1st timed run!
It was a bit disappointing that only two scims were competing but there was a good variety of the other machinery. All in all, a very good event, perhaps too close to Anglesey for some but worth doing later in the year.
Best o' luck, Crusty Snr.

Interestingly Brian was about half a second quicker tham Paul was last year- about what he needs with his extra "oomph" this year
