Just got the results. Points as follows

Sat Sun

Brian---------21.24---------21.10
Steve O------18.42---------18.60
Steve C------19.02---------20.61
Trevor--------25------------25

Brian's results on a fast circuit are impressive
Steve O's steady improvement on Sun
Steve C , steady progress?
Trevor on form :D

Nick

I could be wrong but not sure how I could be second on Sunday; Brian beat me on time so must be better on handicap :?:

I'm confused too. When I multiplied the times by the handicap I got a different result. Also the classic marques scoring gave a different result too (I thought the TVR lot scored the same way).

I'm not complaining, I'd just like to understand how it's worked out.

TVR championship (not sure about classic marques)uses the same scoring system but the SSSC formula is slightly different iirc, sure Ben tweaked the formula to improve paarity based on scimitar times from previous year when we first started using it.

also rememeber theres a track length factor too ( read the regs, only comes into affect on longer circuits iirc)

Does nothing change year on year with the scoring?? Not taking anything away from Trevor who I know well to be a seriously quick driver, but he doesn't seem to have anyone near at the events I've seen points wise, even with strong showings from BC, SL etc??

I think I've just shown that I would be completely useless working the scores out

Apology to Steve O. My error now corrected above . He is correct

The Classic Marques system has minor differences as Craig says, generally it will give the same result as ours, but the points differences vary slightly

PS

Paul,

The handicap system does work . Steve L and I have beaten Trevor on handicap over the last 3 years. He has dug deep to beat us on a number of occasions. I will bet Steve L does beat Trevor at some events this season. Steve was unlucky at Loton to get the worst of the conditions he,of course, did not complain .The Inter Marque results show how competitive the Scims are, both Trevor and James Carter have shown this.

If you care to give it a go I am sure you could give him a run

having been in Trevors position and been pegged back due to success, i would disagree and say that its for others to up their respective games...

but then i would wouldnt i ;-)

TS is doing a great job imho even more impressive as its in an essex powered car rather than a sporty nissan turbo small sports...:-)

Yeah fair enough and I wasn't really saying he should be pegged back, just can't remember if anything changed with the new regs.... When did you get pegged back!!? Can't remember that one

the white car was effectively outlawed from old Super Mod (id have to have made the car slower and take mods off, narrower tyres blah blah) so i went to Competition but then regs chnaged following year to MSA classes as per now anyway.
still rankles though

Cheers Nick,

Like I said, it that was only based on the results I'd seen.. Brilliant that it's working well, and regarding giving them a run... I'm seriously considering it, hence the question

I agreed to write this event up for Slice. Does anyone have any photos they can email me, so I can include them with the piece.

Steve/Josh, your one of the cars/drivers under the control tower would be good and any of the on track snaps.
