(off-topic again) thank you Roger. Yes, the Anglia does look good. I also passed my test in an Anglia, I was allowed to use the slightly more powerful de-luxe for my test (which I stalled on a slight hill in Worksop town centre, but still passed). Our paths may well have crossed at Oulton in the late 60's but Cadwell was my local. Unfortunately I lost all of my early negatives in a house move in '79.

I think that's the identity of the chassis underneath?

Great photos Roger, thanks for posting them.

I hadn't realised I'd lifted a wheel. It felt like I was maybe lifting a rear at "flagpole" on the return to the crossover, as I always seemed to be spinning up as I unloaded the left rear.

The angles, the geometry, the forces involved. The mind boggles.

I can't even figure out how Josh has a wheel lifted in one photo given the direction of the front wheels!

Apparently (according to my book by Fred Puhn), if the front roll stiffness is too high compared with the rear, a front wheel can lift in the corners (doesn't say which wheel, though) :?
Stiffen up the rear anti-roll bar?
Of course, Sabre Sixes with the original longitudinal watts linkages don't have this problem. 8)
