Chris, for the test day all that is required is the very minimum of safety really. As it's not an MSA event nothing has to be to a specific regulation. Open to all and sundry, no prior experience, licensing or membership required.
You will need:

A HELMET - full face or open. Provided it fits securely and straps up. You can pick a new one up for about £30 on eBay!

LONG SLEEVES.

No additional requirements for the car, standard belts fine.

Philip Andrew. Self assured SS1 know-it-all
Current : SS1 1300 "KMG" - Sideways round a track near you 2017
Also: SS1 1800ti big rebuild on hiatus.

Friday to run as has been traditional, full day split into morning and afternoon with lunch break to allow cars and drivers to cool down. Pricing as per Slice. Ideal for those that wish to pound round all day or make tweaks and then go out again and so forth.

Saturday is the change from the norm, usually Saturday AM but first time ever will be Saturday afternoon this year. Slots will be 1hr duration, £20 rssoc members (slightly subsidised) £25 non rssoc members.
We anticipate 1hr session plus a max 15 mins between to get previous batch signed off and new batch signed on.

I plan to have next batch lined up in paddock 5mins before previous batch leave the circuit and vacate the start line holding area. If ya not ready tough luck, so ensure you and the car are ready to go in time.

As this is a 1st time for this format, it may not be perfect and may need tweaks for subsequent years so again a little assistance and 'latitude in attitude' will help all concerned and be hugely appreciated by me :-)
It's likely that dependant on take up we will have guests from the sprint classes on Sunday attending as well, so a little direction for those maybe not used to what we do will help them too.

Currently the slots will be 1 x per driver but nearer the time, if there are additional slots available that haven't been taken up they could also be purchased, I suggest you indicate on here or to Nick if you woukd be interested and we shall pull straws/flip coins, pin the tail on a GTE or some other such method to see who gets them.

Anyone that can assist either with an hour on the timing or organiaing/herding the paddock when not testing themselves please make themselves known to me please:-)

Thanks Chaps 8)

Thanks Jim.
To be honest I'm a bit nervous of having a go at this as I don't want to make a fool of myself having never done any kind of track driving before.
I think I am becoming indecisive in my old age...... but then again ....

Best place to learn then - lots of experience there and people like Craig who are more than willing to sit in with you and give you some pointers.

Yep come and find me and I'll sit in with you or take you around. It's so much easier than driving on the road, no hidden dangers, tractors, kids, cyclists and only 1 car on the circuit at a time. Go as slow or as quick as you feel able, and you will love very second I promise you! After a few runs and you are happy you know where the circuit goes, myself or another will hop in and give you tips to smooth you out and you'll be amazed at how easy it actually is! :-)

I blame Craig for this anyway as he kindly gave me some tickets last year for Harewood hill climb and that set me off thinking. Its always dangerous when I start thinking ;-)
