Middlebridge suspension

Post by woomera » Thu Apr 25, 2019 1:30 pm

Hi all,

Progress continues with the Bilstein shocks. Harvey Bailey / Leda Suspension now have four original spec Bilstein units made to the Middlebridge drawings, but we are stuck on the rear springs. Can anyone offer any details? If not for the MB, then for the SE6?

If you are getting units made to MB spec may I insist that they use a readily available bush for the mountings?.

AND NOT a stupidly expensive and difficult to source type that the bilsteins used, and before them the spax bushes cost more to replace than the whole unit. :bh

There are a few different easily sourced bushes that can be made to fit the eyes IF the manufacturer used his noggin.

Hi all, just a brief update on the “back to Bilstein” project: The issue of springs wads finally settled, which allowed progress to continue with the new-manufacture, original spec Bilstein suspension. The completed units are now finished and they were delivered this week. Absolutely delighted with them! Now to fit them and test them out... Pic attached.

Just noticed this. Woomera....please could I have the Bilstein numbers. I have the full set still and understand Bilstein might still recondition them. I'm guessing that they will still need the numbers as a reference. Regs Graeme.

Hi Graeme,

Apologies I haven’t checked in for a few days so I missed your message – attached is a snapshot showing the product descriptions from the Harvey Bailey / Leda invoice. The part codes are the same as the codes on the silver labels in the photograph. The spring rates etc. are listed also.

Those coil overs look so cool. Was thinking of some for my 6b . How much for the set?
