R7 is under spec for fuel injection. R9 minimum, but Biohose is the best you can buy, it even copes with 100% Ethanol.

There is no point trying to teach a pig to sing. It doesn't work and it annoys the pig.

If it’s any help,I bought at great expense some of Gates Barricade hose, supposed to be the very, very best...alas it delaminates internally, not perished.I solved it all by getting the aforementioned Biohose from Andy.I too would never use the braided variety, they look very nice but believe me when they eventually let go,the braid acts as a shroud and you get fuel pouring from the whole length of the hose. How do I know......I had a whole garage floor flooded when the fuel line decided to set itself up as a siphon..not the Scimitar though.

Thanks all, the project is on hold until it gets warmer (yes, even here it is cold - but nothing like the UK).
I may do the return with the Gates and the feed with Andy's magic stuff.

Wow, is it really four months since I did anything to the car?
I've been out in it a few times, almost getting used to not accelerating

Anyway, we were discussing cars in my local and where to get parts and I said 'AD Motor Factors'
Why I didn't think of them before I don't know.
So I trotted off to see them and found they have Gates Multi-Fuel at 9,14 euros a metre inc tax.
Being from Yorkshire that made the decision easy.

With a bit of 12 mm as well, and two jerry cans I got under the car and most went to plan.
The state of the old hoses under the shiny pristine stainless steel braiding is horrifying.
I took the opportunity to turn the petrol pump and filter 180º, they had been fitted Ford-fashion with u-bends all over the place.
I cleaned the filter again, the dirt accumulated in a few hundred kilometres was amazing.
8 mm tubes fitted and ready to run.
12 mm - er hang on, there's another adaptor to the pipe from the tank which says it is 5/8 of a ninge, so 15 or 16 mm.
Thought I'd cut it back and run the new 12 mm almost to the tank.
But it is armoured, with a steel mesh inside the rubber, and I can't get my angle grinder in the space.
Thought I'd take it off and cut it, but I can't see any way of undoing the exotic blue anodized union (where on earth did that come from?) because I can't get a big spanner in either.

So it is still there while I think about it, everything is back together and operational but I haven't had time to do a road test yet.

Next job appears to be the gearbox input shaft bearing which is audible in the car - and deafening under it.
Oh dear.
