I hope you did well in the photo competition, in my experience yours are usually excellent.
Thanks, sadly the judges didn't agree! I did get an Honourable Mention in one of the categories, but that was all. Mind you, the standard was very high. There were 10 categories, and we could enter one photo in each of the categories, up to a max of 7. These were my seven:

Class-2---Burnout.jpg

Class-7---Reflection.jpg
Class-7---Reflection.jpg (162.45 KiB) Viewed 804 times
Class-9---Bike-racers.jpg

Class-10---Elite-Dancing-on-the-Edge.jpg
Class-10---Elite-Dancing-on-the-Edge.jpg (94.71 KiB) Viewed 804 times

The categories that I entered were :

1. Members' Meeting
2. Festival of Speed
5. Action
6. People of Goodwood
7. Close-Up
9. Motorcycles
10. Beyond the Gates of Goodwood (the Elite is at the Silverstone Classic)

There were about 350 entries, from about 50ish photographers.

There will be another competition next year, so I'll be back for another go! :D

Thanks! :D

I know what you mean about the distance, as I used to live in Cheshire before '84, but then a change of career and employer meant a move down to the Sussex coast. As it turned out, it was exactly the right place to be when things kicked-off at Goodwood in a big way in '93, but I didn't know that at the time. Sometimes you can plan all you like, but in the end you just have to go with the flow! :D

Well as I have both Oulton Park possibly the best circuit in the uk IMO and Donington Park within 2 hours travel time guess I shouldn't really complain

Great pics Roger!
I think even so the Elite would be better in black and white 8)
