Hi, I have just purchased this Se5A and wondered if anyone has any pics of it when it was last on the road. Reg KKP 543P, it has Scimitar Owners Club keyrings with it. Best Keith

Hi Keith, have you contacted the Se5/5a registrar with the cars details? He (Jim) is at this email address - SE5.registrar@rssoc.co.uk
I'm sure he'd be pleased to hear from you, and if a previous owner was a club member, then they might have already provided details (and sometimes photographs). Worth a try, anyway. :)

Also consider completing a V888 and sending to DVLA with a small fee to get copies of all past V5's with past owners' names & addresses?

Hi Keith,

You can download the form from the DVLA website, last year it cost £5 for the history. I said I was restoring the car and wanted the information for the vehicle history file. You can learn quite a bit about a car from the information. I found that mine has had three different registration numbers, and one owner kept it for just three weeks before it was returned to the dealer. The dealer had it for about seven months before it was sold again, it must have had something seriously wrong with it on that occasion.

Good luck with your new acquisition, I hope you get as much enjoyment as I do. Mind you, there's a certain amount of head scratching and frustration along the line as well. But on the whole it's very satisfying owning a Scimitar.

Bit off topic but doesn't the setting of the SE5a with deflated tyres make the Ford KA look huge :w

The car is on the register, but there's nothing about ownership. I have a feeling the photo I have came from ebay, but the entry pre-dates the picture. I think Dave Poole keeps records of ebay entries, so he may have something.

When I got details from DVLA of my old SE6, I wrote to all the previous owners including an SAE and a current photo of the car and got some really useful information from a number of the owners.

Jim, I was tempted at trying this for Purple which I'd like to learn more about ...
Is there any chance that DVLA would consider a request coming from overseas ?
Not sure if they would take a bank cheque from France though

If DVLA show the car as exported they may question it? If they decline, I have acted as a go-between to gain info about car(s) from DVLA, on behalf of others?
