Absolutely horrendous.

My family and I have been to concerts there many times, it always felt safe and secure.

I hope they catch whoever is behind this, the cell, the radicalisers, associates etc. And they get what they deserve!

Shocking news
Concert halls, restaurants or any other place where people simply enjoy life seem to be the new targets for those (self-censored)
So many broken young lives, and many more injured families who will have to live with awful memories ... so sad today
Warm thoughts for all those families, RIP young lads & girls !

Hate to think what the body count would be if the bomb was exploded inside the arena ?

People will soon be asking themselves - who can I trust ?

I was shocked and saddened at such a cowardly act - how can we stop this ?

At 22.00 pm UK time tonight, let Facebook fall silent for 22 minutes. No posts, no status updates, no uploads. Just still and silent for the 22 victims lost.. ❤❤❤❤

♥send to all friends if you care ❤️

As you can imagine in my line of work and who I work for I have done a number of vigels over the last couple of days. And they were really nice but a little limited in audience. Let's have this silence and show our strength.

I'm at Dot2Dot in Manchester tonight and every venue is having a minute of silence followed by a minute of loud noise at 10:00

Love that!!

Working for the police you get used to people calling you names and being generally derogatory to you.
The last few shifts have seen people crying in appreciation to officers and staff.
I have to say I have been uncomfortable with it, my thanks is my pay, my job is just the way I am. I want to help i want to protect, I want to make it better for victims no matter what they are a victim of.

However the best way to say thanks to any cop or police staff is coffee/tea or food lol
The reaction over the last few days has made me feel really humble, weather it be a hug (yes never had that one before!!) Food (loads of food sweets and drinks brought by public and shops to the station) or just a hand shake it's a big reminder that not everyone we deal with is offender or victim.

Have the friends been heard from and are they okay?

I've really not known how to reply to this thread, I've managed to do nothing of any greater use than change my Facebook profile picture. One of my girls was in and around Manchester that night, we new she should be no where near and fortunately she was where she should be. Needles to say, some 'advice' has been given regarding not answering her phone and getting in touch with Mum and Dad!

Had a message from a colleague a couple of days back, one of our colleagues in another practice lost his son. Suddenly this becomes so much closer to home, a place I know well and now a face to a name, I don't know how anybody copes with such loss

Yes all friends are ok. However another who we didnt know was was there was hit by shrapnel. She is a 16 yo girl who was there with her mum. Her mum is having trouble dealing with what could have been.
It's hard to believe how close most are to someone who was there.
