National Family Weekend 2016

Post by AJL Electronics » Thu Apr 07, 2016 10:38 am

I was interested to see that the family weekend is back on and WAS quite interested, particularly as it isn't so far away. I made the mistake of telling 'indoors about it before checking up... http://hattonworld.com/hatton-shopping-village-warwick/

The Hatton Country World site looks great and I anticipated a good first outing with the caravan. Then I looked at the website for the venue and realised that there is no way that I can attend, at least not with 'indoors in tow. There are TWENTY FIVE SHOPS AND BOUTIQUES on the site. Now just imagine the scenario... One woman allowed to wander around a shopping centre for more than two full days! What do you think will be the outcome of that? I certainly can't afford to even contemplate it. ;-) Just *what* were the organisers thinking?

Home to a myriad of independent shops full of gorgeous gifts you won’t find on the High Street. Homemade fudge and hand crafted jewellery – all made on site . A changing array of antiques, contemporary furniture and interior accessories. A family run garden centre with all the specialist knowledge you need

The Sweet Shop at Hatton is an independently run Old Fashioned Sweet Shop based in the lovely rural setting of Hatton Country World. Be transported back in time as you browse our huge range of delicious retro treats.

The Art of Glass

Art of Glass has a small team of artists and craftsmen with over 90 years of combined experience, and specialise in ecclesiastical commissions and restoration, stained glass for public places and domestic stained glass for your home.

Lorna Loves

A unique collection of inspiring gifts, handbags, scarves and accessories..

John Garland Taylor

John Garland Taylor offers a range of hand made, bespoke, jewellery for all occasions. All items are hand made and hand finished by John and his two sons. A trained smith with many years experience of restoring historic armour, John has focused his skills on the design and development of jewellery for the last 30 years.

Adara Beauty

At Adara Beauty you'll feel as if you've discovered a space created just for you. Adara is a delightful salon based at Hatton Country World in Warwickshire, offering a wide range of professional beauty and relaxation services.

Hi Andy,
You can't criticise the organisers for not including our women folk!

As a matter of interest, who is contemplating going? I've got my application form on the office desk upstairs but haven't quite got round to filling it in and coughing up the hard earned!!
Looks a good event so myself and Mrs O will be giving it a go!!

Cheers
Kev O

No criticism whatsoever of the event or the organisers. It's just that 'indoors will run amok and bankrupt me buying tat and clutter.

I shall be there as I appear to be organising the thing, I'd appreciate it if some would volunteer to assist myself and the committee members there to ensure that the event runs as smoothly as possible.

Also if you would like to come to the event and are stopping over and intend joining for the Saturday night meal can you please let us know as soon as possible as we need to have a certain number booked by this Sunday to enable us to meet the quota of people and make viable for the venue, as they need to rota staff to cover as the spinning jenny is usually closed at evening time.

Similarly if you wish to come Sunday only let us know so we have an idea of potential attendance, I appreciate there isn't a cost to just attend but would be useful to allow sufficient car park space and the like.

Note, people who visit won't be charged to enter to visit ourselves, however anyone wishing to enter the venue's Adventure World we have secured a discounted entry rate of £8.25 per person, sadly no cncessions, this is their group / schools rate to is pretty good, please contact me for further details on social@rssoc.co.uk or PM me on here.
