I had a "thing" in Austria today. Put the bonnet up in Zell am See to isolate the battery while the car was parked and noticed a blister on the hose from the blanking cap to the radiator (1800ti ). Wrapped it in tape and added a couple of jubilee clips and so far so good. Push comes to shove I think there is enough length to cut some off and re-do the end as buying 32mm ( is it 32mm ?? ) hose may be difficult overr here.

Home and back to Calais where I did the last fill. 853 miles 35.95gal = 23.72mpg not too bad for my triple 40DCOE jobbies. Or 11.9 litres/100Km in foreign country speak.
convert here

If you have one of those toy things that won't run that website then divide 282.5 by your mpg to get l/100k OR divide it by your l/100k to get mpg simples innit.

Cologne to Norwich yesterday, used southern route liege/charleroi/Mons/Lille/Dunkirk ferry. All clear other than 2 minor roadworks for bridge repairs. Most scary moments of entire week was British driving on M20 in severe downpours thursday evening - had all lights on at 40mph (in convoy style) but had idiots blasting past with no lights at all. Lack of experience or don't give a monkey's?

International was great, very many thanks to Albert & Ute

Jorg and I had a safe trip back to France last Monday ... well, with a lot of rain as soon as we entered french territory
Freeways around Paris were up to their reputation ... huge traffic jams ! it took me 2 hours to get back from Orly to Avon - just 40 miles -
I had a good surprise though, The Flying Sub did not go above 90/95 ... it was actually cooler in the jams than when we were riding on the freeway - weird ? -

I'll drop a bunch of photos here tonight - now that I have sorted all my pics - and will upload more on Wetransfer for the attendees of the IR2016

Thanks indeed to Albert & Ute for the great organization and their kindness throughout this week-end :hurrah: :hurrah:
Cheers,
Fred

Saturday morning started under the rain :(

Image

Image

But it stopped just before starting the Rally - phew -
I do not have many pics of the rally itself, there was no time for shooting as we were too busy looking for crosses
Just managed to get those at the coffee break:

Then again at lunch break ... just before rain started again - it probably knew that we were through with the Rally

Another day, another dinner 8)

... and time for the rewards:

Sunday morning ... on our way to Maastricht !

The entrance to the underground carpark was a challenge to find, but that sure was a good opportunity for more pics under the neon tubes

 Did 100 miles today with 33deg in the shade and the tape and clips coped well so hope is alive. Not the same can be said for the drivers door glass rubber which bent 90deg in the sun and heat. For the moment I have cut the hard plastic bottom to allow the rubber to lie flat again and will fit a new strip when we get back home.

I thought it must be you - perhaps we can have a longer talk in Durham.
