New purchase of a modern classic

Post by mike carr » Mon Mar 06, 2017 3:45 pm

Well as much as I love Scimitars, I am also a Saab fanatic and have finally found what I've been after for ages, went and bought it yesterday :)
a 1993 Saab 900s 16valve LPT which has been meticulously maintained throughout and Drives beautifully, a fully documented History that has
wanted for nothing by its previous owner who very sadly passed away in October 2016.
His wife Gill is a pleasant lady and made me very welcome, and is delighted it has gone to someone who will cherish it as her late husband Neil did.

...Looks a lovely car, Mike - Mike Simpson will be jealous as he's a big Saab fan...I had a '71ish chocolate-brown 99 off my brother, once, a long time ago. It ground to a halt late one night with a knackered engine the day after I had done an oil change with the cheapest (&, no doubt, nastiest 'recycled'...) supermarket oil that I could find...

Thanks Scimher, I have always like Saabs and had many types over the past 30 years or so including the very rare 99, especially the turbo version.
The 900s 16v turbo is becoming quite iconic and prices are climbing rapidly, so I was very fortunate to find this beautiful example.
I have to many cars at the moment and I have been ordered by her indoors to sell at least two, one of which is a very low mileage, just 43k.! in stunning condition
Mercedes CLK 320 avant-garde 55 plate in metallic silver, and also equally as nice my MGF 1.8vvc in BRG, also very low mileage 59k with stainless exhaust, cooling pipes
and aluminium radiator, its such a super fun car.
My everyday car is my Saab 95 aero estate, had it for seven years and what a car, old now on a 51 plate but so comfortable, very solid and extremely quick.!
albeit a thirsty beast.
As regards my 5a, well I know what price I would like for that but we shall see, one things for certain, they are also increasing in price, and about time.! :)

Excellent choice a very iconic car as you say I remember not being allowed to buy the Carlson edition, apparently no space for the dog and children:)
