by way of comparison 'WGV 287' has been for sale for some time in the region of £22k. Looks quite tired but given its history from a newbie looking in appears cheap. That being said I think that £45k would be a good value - assuming its not a bag of bits. Been on the website and cannot find anything about it - are you sure its still for sale?

WGV 287 sold at H&H Auction, Buxton in September 2010 to a chap in Germany for about £27k. Didn't know that it was for sale again.

With regard to 648 GUE, keep an eye open for the Dorset Vintage & Classic Car Auctions catalogue for their 19 June sale.

I don't remember hearing about WGV recently - the story of it's sale and subsequent successful outing in the 2012 historice Monte Carlo Rally is in this thread, along with a brief mention of the Richard Prosser car BAE, which still seems to be available currently, at about 24.5k

of course I cannot now find the advert having seen it only yesterday!
However in looking I then found this! http://www.sussexsportscars.co.uk/cars/ ... six-coupe/ This garage is never known for its bargains so I would guess that with no price showing this will ultimately be a new high water mark for Sabre 6 cars!

Why do youtube links never work for me? This was mentioned a while ago but relevant here I think :-)

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6gYDAQ7LZT4
The youtube tags only work for the regular youtube URL, so http://www.youtube.com and not for http://www.youtu.be or http://www.youtube.com. ALso not working when using https://......

= no result

in the above working link, "m." was manually substituted for "www."

After it came back from Japan where it had been raced (to death in my opinion). The wiring had been hacked about so much it was unusable. I had the dash & harness here to see what could be done but it was a non starter. So I built a new one to Dave's requirements. The original was then in a sack and Dave said it will be included for originality purposes with a sale.

Given its history I would have put it in a different auction - I think someone might get a bargain here (even though it will need significant budget to finish).

That's why it's 26k guide and not £50k

I did see it last time I was at DWs - didn't realise it was 648 though as he had another one in there with the same modified suspension IIRC.

Wasn't DW also working on a "works-replica" project, with the same 4-headlight bonnet, which has been up for sale on fleabay a couple of times? (presumably copied from 648?)

I agree with Simon, it's a shame that significant Reliants often seem to be relegated to minor provincial auction houses (though it might mean somebody gets a bargain....)

I'd agree with Josh, it's a car I would very much like in my collection, though I don't think I have the money or facilities for that to be realistic. It deserves to be back in the limelight though.

The replica has been sold as far as I know. Its not a fake but effectively a conversion of an early flailing arm one.

scimjim the point I was making is that at the right auction given its history I actually think it would make (even in its current condition) in excess of 50k. With provenance and sympathetically done this car could be worth a lot more than you might think.... collectors love history.
