Dash v6/s6

Post by backpain » Tue Jan 30, 2018 5:04 pm

I did start this on another topic but best start my own .
In my opinion it always looks rather dark and gloomy around the dash area inside a v6
So I was thinking would a s6 dash fit the one with wood or what looks like it
Would brighten it up
This is mine as was just informed there are 2 types thanks Coupe racing

Why not keep what you have because it fits
Remove the vinyl where the instruments are and replace with veneer

Something like this? It might be too much of a contrast against the black.I did it because I have always liked the “Lotus” type look and that vac formed plastic was in a very bad way.I have now to tidy up the rest,it did take a long time to make and I have had the aluminium anodised,so it will stay like that.

I fancy going the other way with my 5A. I would rather a 5 style dashboard. But I will do it in Tan.

Cheers

Did you see this photo that I posted quite a few years ago, of a LHD-converted Se5a with a dash which has been done in an Se5 style? Sounds like exactly what you've got in mind :D

Close Roger. But I would lose the rocker switches, for 5 style chrome switches mounted on the centre console and lose plastic between the seats....Probably.

Its some way down the line. Bigger fish to fry.

Cheers

Actually that is not too bad...not too sure about the colour but I quite like that.Always prefered
the 5 dash to the 5A,but Lucas flick switches.
