Instruments

Post by Chet » Thu Jun 29, 2017 11:25 am

Another query as dismantling of 400692 proceeds: the middle of the 3 instruments in the central panel(above the radio) is a Lucas warning light cluster as fitted to numerous Triumph saloons and Stags at the time. It is properly wired in and the speedo and tacho are not wired for warning lights. There is no clock. Were these clusters fitted to coupes for a period or is mine an oddity?
Cheers,
John

I think someone has fitted SE6/a instruments by the sound of it (which don't have inbuilt warning lights in the speedo and tacho, and use a Triumph-esque cluster with pictures rather than the words)?

Ah - I might have read that wrong - are your speedo and tacho just not wired for the warning lights, or are they not there at all?

Phil - the speedo and tacho are present - just not wired for warning lights. The small instruments are a mish-mash - some have needles up and some needles down so there have obviously been some replacements. The cluster has words as per Triumphs. Most things work - or did before I got to them.
