The arms are not splayed they are parallel the top arm has just been moved further out board at both ends.

Ah ... curiouser and curiouser said Alice.
There are still what appear to be the original brackets on top of the axle alongside the new.
In fact the inner bracket of the new mounting seems to be the outer of the old one.
I can't see what happens at the chassis end, are there any clues there?

Hi Dark Star same thing at the chassis end new bracket to the outside of the old.
