Re: Coupe Register
Engines were consecutive but with 2 models being produced consecutively they got a bit mixed up. The first SE5s had SC9xx engines IIRC.

Re: Coupe Register
SC is Reliants engine serial number prefix - they allocated the numbers not Ford.toomanysabres wrote:Could the SA prefix be one of those South African engines that mermar has had all the trouble with.

Re: Coupe Register
thanks for the replys
the production date or paint code makes sense ,
I assume there is similar #s stamped on other plates ?
another question is ---- there is an alloy plate riveted near the bonnet catch ( on the body) it is about 3"x 1" , this plate is blank , as in nothing is visible , what was on this plate ?? my guess is a warning radiator cap may be ??
some one will know
change of season in Adelaide --- getting colder , opposite to you in the UK
cheers

Re: Coupe Register
Hi Harky
Yes this plate refers to cooling system and also informs you that-"Bluecol Anti-freeze must be used"

Usual story first start stripping the paint - realise the enormity of the restoration - give up.DARK STAR wrote:This one?

Re: Coupe Register
From the colour, the shed and the shrubbery, I think those two are in Surrey or thereabouts. They surface from time in these types of articles but the guy wont sell them or his other classics, all in similar state. I think they were on the forum within the last year, so am sure Roger or Jim our resident thread hounds might find them!

Thread hounds, indeed?!
I resemble that remark!
However, there's nothing like a challenge - try this thread 'ere for a start!
