There is something here which is not correct.

As Jim says, they are using the identity of SRR 66G which is an obvious write-off AND a V6 not a straight six.
The chassis comes from the gold car which mysteriously has no identity.
But it HAS got a factory sliding sunroof which is so rare that we can make a guess.
And the favorite guess is ... BUE 442B
This very important car is unheard of since 2012, could it have ended up here by devious means?

My notes on the two cars :

BUE 442B chassis 0004 one of two gold ’65 motor show cars, factory sunroof, used to illustrate handbook and in publicity photos, for sale 200 sterling accident damage offside peter saunders ’74, new v5c ’83, on road selon matt ’12, no tax or mot colour silver selon dvla ‘19

SRR 66G chassis no? new v5c issued while car in desperate condition ’17, tribute automotive unfinished d-type jaguar kit (with chassis from a gold car with factory sunroof) ’19, dvla shows colour white sorn ‘19

My spies are working on the case and have already taken a few photos ...
The gold one looks like one I went to look at for a chassis donor for my green one, not thinking to check it was a V6 first! Came with a fully restored, galvanised chassis, I didn't bother to check for identification as I was too disappointed it was a straight 6! The owner contacted me via the Facebook group.

We have another mystery
This car was recorded as FTD 565C in Slice in 1980 when the owner joined the RSSOC: S Hollett of Merthyr Tydfil
It is listed on my site and on Matt's as FTD 565C
The eBay photo (of uncertain date) clearly shows FTD 565C

Yet the photo from approx 2000 posted by Stephen Hudson on Facebook (spotted by one of my spies) is even more clearly FTO 565C.

DVLA check shows FTO 565C - Tax due mar ’95
FTD 565C - No record

Chassis number 0083 in either case

Of course it is possible that DVLA are mistaken and both exist(ed), in which case FTO is not chassis 0083 ...

My guess would be that when the DVLA issued the V5C to replace the old buff log book, someone made a typo, which then begs the question - new number plates would be required instead of correcting the error?

My guess would be that an owner (or the person that made the plates) misread FTD as FTO - seen it happen before :D

Two more reddish cars are on eBay.

First one I think I have identified as UPL 324F, chassis 5054.
This was bought by Jonny M in 2013 as a restoration project, now he is selling the roof
Does this mean he is creating a convertible Coupé ?

The other which has a wonderful colour scheme is for sale by David Thorpe of Dovedale Garage in Ashbourne.
I can't find a corresponding car on the list so it seems to be a new entry.

Excellent!
Last known on Tyneside, and no previous photos.
Thanks Chet, good luck with the restoration - the car looks like a solid base.

The head, inlet and carbs are probably worth that!

These are not new to the list but sadly they seem to have passed the point of no return since they were for sale in Aberfeldy in 2000/2001.
The gold car is RRE 212G, photographed by Jeff Craske at Droys Court in happier days in 1985, the other unidentified.

This one is also on your list. BGC 167G, chassis 857. Reason for mentioning it, is that it appears several times in "Running report" a regular feature in the now defunt Your Classic magazine. I'm going through a load of old magazines and saw the car in 1991/2 editions. It was owned at that time by Tim Slade. Is he still the owner? If not perhaps the current owner might be interested in the magazines. Mike.
