SS1 front indicator & side light unit

Post by BigBobPilot » Mon Jul 29, 2019 10:05 pm

Hi All,

A quick question, as my race car has didn't have the front indicator & side light units . On the SS1, are the white / orange lens & the light back moulding welded together, or does the white / orange lens screw on separately?

Thanks

The original lens had two plastic screws through the front so can be removed from the back housing

They originally had those standoffs through the back piece, with a nut holding them to the bumper, and the lenses held on with plastic screws going into the female part of standoff.

Ok, thanks for that. Does anyone have a pair of just the external lenses from the front lights going spare & available for me to purchase?

I need to have original or facsimile lights in place for one of the series I plan to race in. I just want to put the guts of some LED DRL's behind the side lights for visibility in wet races.

The head lights will have to be stickers, I didn't want to do it, but needs must.

Re headlights, do they have to look as original? If so a digital photograph and get them printed on vinyl?

If not exactly as oem, the shape on my CVH, Batty and Nick Keysers works well, a bit of photoshop to create the decal and get printed?

No the headlights don't need to look original. I'll try to make them as minimal as I can, maybe just an outline.

The side/indicator could be a decal too, but I want some lights for visibility (of my car to others) in wet conditions.

I have digital decals for the indicators and fog lights on the front of the Sabre. Just downloaded images from Google of similar designs and printed on self adhesive vinyl for inkjet
