SS1 heater blower assembly

Post by emelbe » Mon Jul 08, 2019 3:54 pm

Hi there,
Can anybody tell me the source of the SS1 heater blower assembly? I suspect either early 80's Ford or Vauxhall. I was hoping to find a manufacturer's label on the unit but nothing. The car is a mid 80's SS1 fitted with a turbo by Robin Rew, so want to keep everything as original as possible.

Thanks,

Martin B

There are at least 2 versions - like Reliant, Ford and Vauxhall don’t normally make heater motors but buy them in. I bought a new motor from RPW not long ago.

Many thanks for your replies - it's the plastic rotor assembly that is damaged. Not sure whether it comes as part of the entire unit with motor.

Littlescim - might well take you up on your offer, will be in touch soon thanks.

Vauxhall Astra MK2 for the original motor and squirrel cage, although this needs cutting disc to half width (as Reliant seemingly did)

I possibly have a worn out motor with good rotor although separating them from the shaft never seems to go well..
