Need information, re road wheels' for a 1987 SSTI, fitted with 15 inch halford wheels, would like to return back to original or best aftermarket alternative, car has GW vented disc conversion, but I believe would be O/K with 14'' wheels'. thoughts' please.

Standard wheels will need spacers to cover GW vented setup (the full kit used to come with spacers).

10mm spacers IIRC

You can get away with less. 10mm is the "lazy" answer though!

Also quite safe and feasible to grind away material from the caliper and /or wheel.

To answer the original question as I interpret it. Any conversion using the spaced / wide body "metro turbo" calipers will be no larger in diameter and hence 13 or 14 inch wheels will fit. However the body of the caliper extends beyond the hub mounting line and hence the need to space some wheels clear.

I think I fitted 7mm spacers to C686?

I have 6mm spacers on the Sabre but also some metal taken off the 15" wheels - I think the mod comes with 10mm spacers
