At last the top wishbone bolt has given up! So, today I started putting the suspension back together. However, the front ARB to chassis poly bushes seem to be made back to front?!

If you can see from the photos: the old bush has the locator tabs on the opposite side to the poly bushes, I wondered if they were sided but all of my brackets are handed the same (along with the old bush) and the polys are all opposite to that...

Anyone have any ideas?

Yep. Superflex list a late and an early Bush. You have the wrong ones evidently!

I think it's actually a red herring as I have only ever come across one type of clamp.

Mine are stamped 22mm, which I thought were the later type?

They’re all 22mm - I’ve never noticed a difference between early/late cars either - but I’ve probably never looked that closely :D

Has anyone noticed that the other Superflex ARB bushes are back to front? The thing is, I can probably fit them but they will be more prone to movement inside the bracket...

So, I checked the Superflex website and the bush in the picture is definitely the reverse of my brackets, are there different brackets?

Superflex did manufacture both. Just had a look and all I can see available is the one above under both Reliant and Vauxhall listings.

Something than can likely be resolved but I'm the mean time you are probably as well to just slice off the offending bumps and I doubt the bushes would move in use anyway.

There is only one type of bracket as far as I'm concerned.

Or slice the bottom off and turn it round?

Edit- nope, wouldn’t work

Here are the correct ones.
Like you I also have a set of the wrong ones.
My car is a Mk 2 Sabre LHD 1993 registered December.

just cut the offending lumpy bit off, :D the main lump will keep them in place, I've got a block of PU on each side front & rear and NO knobbly bits / ridges as cut from a section of 35mm thick pigging disc (probably 65 or 70 shore hardness)

2528 is listed by Superflex as the early bush, 1695 as the late (galv chassis) - I think they’re all 2528 but will check my box of arb mounts tomorrow.

My spare pair (not yet fitted) which came from Nigel at QRG, are 2528 (supplied for a late galv chassis car)

Thank you for your replies, I think there is an issue with Superflex and the bushes because I have two sets of supposedly late brackets (both from 1989 cars) and the listed bush does not fit.

I contacted Superflex and received the following email, which might become a bit of an issue - unless, as suggested, we just modify the bushes...

Hi Dom

Yes, there ‘were’ two different types, you have ordered the one for ‘late galvanized chassis’ we used to offer the early non galvanized chassis version – which is the opposite, see here:

https://www.superflex.co.uk/datasheets/spf1695.pdf

but I’m afraid the last of our stock went yesterday & we have decided to discontinue.

I did manage to buy a set of the "early" bushes but I'm wondering if Superflex have made a mistake and the 1695 part is the non-galvanised type? If they have stopped manufacturing what they think is the "early" type and it really is the "late" type then I suspect they won't be selling many bushes...
