The stock regulator is good for 200hp (It was on my Sabre anyway), so unless it's broken I wouldn't bother. Having said that I will be changing the one in my Sprint car in the next couple of weeks for a Sytec MSV with built in gauge. This is because I don't trust the one that's on there and I want to know exactly how much pressure I'm getting (I'm practically redlining at every up change whilst on track). I'll post photos in my project thread so you can see where to cut out the old regulator etc.

That would be great Steve, it's not in the search for more power but in resolving the issue of overfuelling and poor running...

Ok chaps, my issues continue tho i must admit ive only got one thing (i hope ) to resolve, the car starts, but still a little reluctantly and it dosent pick up the revs at all as you would expect a cold car to on start up and i doubt you could drive away in it without stalling, What am i missing here to get the revs up on start-up , the bummer is that if i run it till its warmed up it runs REALLY sweet. Ive tried the air regulator, tested continuity, OK, checked feed from ECU,OK about 12+V, cannot open it up cos its sealed, when its on tried connecting and disconnecting its electrical connections but neither seem to make any difference, Bluebird manual suggests clamping off the rubber pipe ,U-SHAPED, into it and revs should slow, it doesn't !!
Suggestions Please

Check the ignition timing and idle speed. If it’s a gnat’s out on either, it can cause these symptoms.

Hot idle should be about 1100-1200 rpm (yes, pretty high, but it helps stop exhaust smoke at idle). Iirc the timing should be set when it’s running at 850-950rpm, when set turn the idle screw until it reaches 1100-1200rpm.

Still sounds like a coolant temperature sensor issue. Have you tried a new one? What about trying another ECU?

Yes ive fitted a new temp sensor unit with no change but haven't got a spare ECU , reluctant to buy one as all the bits ive previously bought to try and fix it haven't worked.

I have an ecu that is currently not on a car (it's not exactly a spare and I would need it back...) but I don't know if it is good... So not exactly a massive help but you could borrow it to try?

Two adjustment screws near the idle valve on the inlet. One facing the drivers wing adjusts base idle speed, one 90 degrees round the side of it, facing the radiator should control the idle up circuit idle speed / cut in. Worth a tweek of either to see if you can stable out the idle up (choke) engine idle speed.

Clutching at straws here but make sure the looped air hose linking the inlet to the idle up valve is intact, done up tight and not perforated, as a leak on the hose would make it run lean on a cold start until the valve closed.. Worth a check on all your air inlet and turbo hoses for leaks too.
