could you run a couple of leads tapped into the distrib connector with a multimeter in the car when beibg driven? that way if the sensor plays up you should see the needle swing oddly when the misfire occurs?

is it a 'full cut' misfire across all cylinders or could it just be crap in injectors/fould plug etc from all the attmpts to get running?

I stripped out the distributor once more and on inspecting the disc the minimal interference fit did not even cause any polishing. I noticed some minor dust on some of the slots so again cleaned it and blew it out with air. On re- installing I made a shim from heavy duty aluminium foil, this raised the disc by about a thou to give slightly better clearance. The car was then given a test run for about an hour and other than minor missing at low revs it went really well. With the distributor being in and out of the car it more than likely just needs tuning for TDC.

I have put together a compilation of the posts relating to the Crank Angle Sensor along with some photos into a pdf document. Hopefully this will help others with a similar problem. If anyone has any comments or can suggest any changes they will be very welcome. I have acknowledged all the contributors, however if anyone considers I have missed them please let me know and I'll rectify it.

As the article attachment at around 1.5MB is too large for the forum I have uploaded it to my website http://www.iceweb.com.au/_private/SCIMI ... LATION.pdf . If anyone can give me clues on how to get the document actually on the forum I would appreciate it if you could please let me know.

One of the Wiki admins can upload it to there but that will be for members only access. I'll temporarily alter the limit and upload it shortly.

Our TI had a slight miss fire at low revs Jim - cured by fitting Magnecor plug leads - other types also cured the problem but only for a short while.
