Is anybody able to get an approx measurement from crossmember to underneath standard bonnet on an SS1 for me? (straight up!)

Quite a difficult dimension to measure unless your car is on a lift - and the bonnet curves, so there’s no single measurement. Best I could do was measure from the crossmember to the top of the engine which was around 57cm on a K series and CVH EFi but 59cm on G97 with twin carbs and a thick filter.

Measure to the front inside edge of the battery - all my SS1's have had the battery touch the bonnet - so the distance cannot be far out.

I suppose I could do that on snotty - unfortunately the three I measured today have batteries located elsewhere!

Thanks for that Jim

Don't worry about measuring any more, my car arrived today
