Kitten Steering Column

Post by Bluebird » Thu Aug 08, 2013 6:37 pm

In the interest of increasing manouevring room for ingress and exit for my arthritic wife, I have been investigating flat-bottomed (or D shaped) steering wheels. Naturally, nobody lists them for a Kitten, but they are available for the usual classic cars, such as Minis, Spitfires, Heralds, Austin-Healeys, MGBs, etc. Of course, the adaptor between column and steering wheel is the key.
As Reliants seem to be factory built with bits from all the other manufacturers, can anyone tell me what other car uses the same steering column splines? I have measured the Kitten splines as 0.620" OD (so probably a nominal 5/8"), with 36 splines.
Any suggestions gratefully received......
