SE6 Rebuild with BOB engine

Post by EngineerDave » Tue Feb 26, 2019 6:27 pm

Hello out there!? - I am (fairly ) recently underway with an SE6 rebuild project - currently the body is off & BOB engine is 'part fitted' - I understand that this conversion has been done before - it would be good to establish contact with some one who has successfully done this, to learn some pros & cons - is anyone out there?

thats a 12v Andy.

24v in the for sale section but Nigel at QRG is probably one of the most practiced still on the scene (and he said he wouldn’t do another one after the last :D )

I have experience of the BOB, but not of fitting one in a normal Scim.

What gearbox are you intending using? What ECU?

Gents, thanks for your responses - Current plan is to use the Ford brain & Scorpio auto box; we are aiming to get the engine running in the chassis (it is already located) & hopefully put the loom on a diet, then 'fit' the body

Good luck with this project. It’s good when people try something different. If my 2.8 ever goes bang I shall be looking for something out of the norm. Thankfully it’s running well at the moment though!

GW did one there was a lot of work needed to the bulk head area to get it in at the expense of space available for the pedals, small feet were needed. :)

Dave if you are local, I have a SE6 bulkhead you can have to trial fit and use to make things work before chopping your bodyshell about.

SE6 Rebuild with BOB engine

Post by Bitterend » Mon Apr 08, 2019 11:11 pm

Good evening Dave.
I am in the process of fitting a BOB into a SE6. It does go in without chopping away bulkheads.
My biggest problem was fitting the stock ECU and utilising the PATS. that is done and it starts and runs.
Currently trying to sort out the wipers.
