Scimitar GTC Power Steering Rack

Post by Rob Jones » Mon Aug 20, 2018 4:09 pm

Good afternoon All,
Having a think about the tubes on my soon to be received steering rack from Mark.
Is it possible to re-fab the hydraulic lines using aluminium - does anyone know if the Aluminium Tube will take the high pressure??
Had a look on the web, and its a tad vague.
Rob..

You’ll be able to find alloy that will stand the pressure but it won’t stand much impact damage.

Alternatively, consider having PTFE-lined, stainless braided ones made up. (the same type of thing as aeroquip)

good luck with flaring that - with DIY equipment - but if you do succeed , you could be onto a winner

Good luck
