Hardtop installation

Post by ard126k » Wed Aug 15, 2018 8:08 pm

Forgive the basic question!
I'm getting ready to put the hardtop on the GTC. If I fold away the hood and put its cover on, will the hardtop fit on over the lot? In other words, can I still engage the hooks on the rear quarters? Or does the cover get in the way?

Thanks

Alex.

It will fit but will wear holes in the cover over many years. I probably fitted my hardtop less than 3 times (in Germany with several feet of snow) and the rule in our house with the small sports, is “if it isn’t raining, the roof should be down” :D

Got it. My hood lets in so much UK rain that I need to cover it to save the interior! I'll just omit the cover.

Hardtop installation

The factory method is soft top folded, hood cover on, hardtop on.

And on the extremely rare occasion that any of my GTCs had the hard top fitted, that was the best way of doing it.

Haven't tried with hood cover on, I have enough trouble folding the hood correctly
