Thanks bud it was all i had at the time, but i have some other stuff to try ,i will post a pic when i change it....The thinking behind it was the use of the origional metal part and the good quality lucas lights. Same style as a DB 5 but they are mounted vertical

Mark

I own the Lucas Factory "Formes" or Dies to everyone else, for stamping the Two gaskets on these light units.

I have also a few refurbished bodies, lots of bulb holders with separate earthing tags fitted which keep the lights working even if the body is corroded or not well earthed either.
I have a few lenses left, but no full light units.

These light units were a Reliant upgrade from the Hillman units previously used.
Reliant wanted a light with the reverse lamp fitted so approached Lucas to alter the tooling at great expense, luckily Lotus wanted the same thing so they went in as a joint venture, when Jensen decided to use them too in the Jensen Healey, they had to buy the "Rights" from Reliant and Lotus, so the costs to Reliant and Lotus dropped.
These lights were so ahead of the times that other car makers used them as they were a compact unit.

TVR, Aston Martin and other kit car makers used them including Maserati in the Ghibli models.

This probably isn't much help but about 10 years ago at autojumbles in the midlands there was a guy selling originals i think for £40 a pair ( or was it each, probably each). One day I decided to man up and buy some (for my TVR) and he didn't have any. I think this was at Stoneleigh. I asked him. He said they weren't NoS but "better than that, they are powder coated not painted". So my conclusion was he had a load of bare metal frames which he powder coated and added lenses to, to make a new unit. I asked about buying some and was given a big lecture about how I had to commit as he had to have a batch done on the strength of my order. the price had increased too, but not by much. I assumed powder coated was what "done" meant.. So I think I had to pay or leave a deposit to get the ball rolling.
Eventually they arrived and I've still got them, at the time my car was pending a respray and these were to finish it off, but that never happened in the end.

Just went and found the box which was only lightly buried. Pics below. The lenses look NoS, and gaskets too!

Hi Stepheni, Mark from down under here.
People on this forum come from far & wide!
Are you interested in selling the tail lights?
I'm assuming they suit a 6B.
If so send a PM.

I think T & J have closed.

The number Steve provided is a management company, and the other registered number is closed.

I used to get my stuff from them, but they only had Damaged old stock left, and stripped them out, had the bodies blasted and stove enamelled then glued them back together.

I last spoke to them about buying a quantity of MY new gaskets punched from the Original Lucas Factory dies, but nothing came from it.

Someone is flogging the gaskets on eBay - not sure if they get them from you, Mark?

I have seen krugers gaskets, they are not from me.

If you look at the bottom one, which is lens to body gasket it should have 3 cutouts at the bottom for "breathing" and allow condensation to escape, the ones on ebay don`t have them.

Mine worked out at £2 per unit, whereas his are £3.25, and when I had them on ebay his sold better than mine, go figure that one out.
Mine are ORIGINAL and cheaper, his are inferior copies and dearer.

I still have some sets left from the last batch I had cut,

Ouch, is right. That would be $1500 a pair landed here!
We pay $1.70 litre for petrol for comparison.

Hi
You could also try Rejen Classics at www.jensenparts.co.uk , I have found them helpful and reasonably priced for JH bits.
