Correct GTE 6B Manuals.

Post by mark rudder » Sat Jun 23, 2018 11:00 am

Hi all, Mark from down under here.
For my 6B I have a 1978 factory manual (part no 91602) & I know I need a Cologne Engine supplement M014
Wiring diagram M023 & I'll get the Don Pither book M0001.
How do I source the gearbox (manual) information & is there anything else that is relevant?

Current GTE 6B, Dolomite Sprint, Scirocco R. Past XJS (manual), V12 E-type (manual, convertible, lovely) 350 chev XJ6, TR6, TR4, Sprite, Midget, local Ford V8s, others... There's a pattern here.….

Gearbox is the same as 6a (apart from Bellhousing obviously - and input shaft length).

This short thread prompts me to ask Jim K ( or indeed anyone else reading along) if the most relavent manual for 6b and SE8 is factory manual (part no 91602). I do have a paper copy of "the Cologne supliment"
I am coming to the conclusion that there is no manual that deals with the differences between 6b and GTC but I can live with that.

I find the parts manual invaluable (specific 6b/GTC) but as above, most technical info (mechanical and electrical) is identical to the earlier cars except for the engine, which is covered in the supplement. The only gaps are really trim items, the convertible roof, etc. Obviously, the excellent colour wiring diagrams on here are also invaluable.

I found the Haynes manuals that covered Cologne engines cars very useful. I had the Granada one.

Have you tried fordopedia.org? They have the Ford parts numbers. Useful for checking parts especially second hand on ebay. Looks a lot like the Granada Haynes manual and the Reliant prats manual. There is some Essex stuff in the 1962-1974 Koeln section.
