More seriously, it looks like at least 70 GTC's were factory galvanised.

+3

I have restored 3 steel GTC's replacing one on a new galvanised chassis and had two chassis's dipped..... unfortunately their details were on a lap top than went pop.
Yes I believe there are a few which have been changed to galvanised after they left the factory, but I referred to those built by Reliant :)

For example, my 1985 SS1 1300 was rebuilt on a galvanized chassis when just over 3 years old, due to accident damage. So there is also a number of possibilities to find galvanized chassis amongst the rest of the GTC production.

My suggestion to the original poster would be to look carefully at the chassis condition, and if after chassis #372, it should be galvanized.

Surely that's what grows on the wet carpets

Check brochure 'Version One' posted earlier. Tan is listed as interior finish, and is the interior in my GTC.

Roy, it was on eBay, classified advert, in 2008. It was being sold by a family member in England, but the car was in France. This information is from the register.

I know
I still can't workout how to get pictures on here, despite advice from Phil H.
Pictures are on my phone, but cannot do the Forum from the phone (suggest another thread if anyone wants to impart wisdom on this subject)

In the meantime, my GTC is on page 45 of Slice 281, and pages 92, 93 of Matt Vale's new book, 'Reliant Sabre, Scimitar and SS1: An Enthusiast's Guide'. You can just about make out the interior is tan, not the chocolate brown. And the seats are a light colour, which I'd call beige. Maybe I should see what 'mushroom' really looks like, but I'd of thought more greyish.

Will post pics of my 6b with Mushroom seats.

Just had a look at my stock of spares and I have a few Tan Plastic with Mushroom material NOS sun visors for the 6b, but no records OR stock of that combination for GTC, and YES the GTC visors are different to GTE.

Long ago, Harewood 2000, Intnl meeting, I spoke to the owner of a light blue GTC. That one looked superb back than. The owner told me is was restored after a fire accident. It could be the same car, it could be another one. No pictures, no names alas.

Erik
Sounds very much like John Thorpe in Lincolnshire.

He bought a burnt out GTC and fully rebuilt it himself, but his is Trafalgar Blue,
