Screws to fix headlight surround

Post by Stornoway Grey » Sat Aug 12, 2017 12:41 pm

The two screws that hold the black headlight surround in place are silver on my car (1978 SE6a) and therefore highly visible. I want to replace them with like for like black screws for cosmetic improvement. I think I have found the exact screws, in black, on the internet but minimum quantity is 200 screws and £30 - see below.
Anyone know where I can buy these individually - online or anywhere else as I only need 4? They are 1" long and 7.5mm across.
Many thanks, Adam

These look like what you're after (in packets of 10). Though I'd be quite surprised if you can't get them locally?

Thanks Roger, local place only has large boxes as well. I will give this web site a try.

These screws are all over a scimitar from interior trim to bumper rubbers. But I agree with Peter dab of satin black paint?

Or make the most of the silver and change for stainless?

Hi Adam

You should be able to get these from BML Hayley, AKA the bearing man on the Lion Works in Newtown . Should be able to buy them singular instead of packs, they are pretty helpful there.

Cheers
Stephen

Thanks Stephen, I had already found a supplier online - pack of 10 for about £2.50 incl postage - but that is really good to know for future reference!
Cheers, Adam
