Right. So that's a picture I just nicked off Mr Keyser. And it uploads fine from my phone.
Well, that's a JPEG and it's 133 kb. What size and file type are the ones that don't upload?

Hmmm, that seemed to work alright. I was using WiFi rather than mobile data though

It can’t be file size or name as I uploaded one of your photos without change.

Screen shot with a squiggle uploaded fine. But anything taken with camera just sits like that and can't be placed in message.

It has to be something to do with the camera?

If that were true then I couldn't do the following.
Add files -
Choose action- camera
Take fresh picture and it works ok.

No idea how the internal storage of the phone works, but my gallery / photos on this device are hosted within Google photos, could that be the issue?

Possibly...I’m assuming that it’s being clever and uploading (and keeping) everything to the cloud, rather than these pictures actually being in said device?

Hosted was perhaps the wrong word.
Photos taken normally via the camera (presumably using one software /app) are stored on the phone and accessed / viewed using Google photos app.

It was all pre installed. I normally don't like Google having tendrils into my life but I am past the point of caring these days.

Not tech savvy. Bear with me.
