Update your profile! - RSSOC Members Section Access

Post by philhoward » Thu Mar 18, 2010 11:19 pm

You may not have noticed, but there has been as addition to your profile settings (User Control Panel > Profile tab) which allows you to add your RSSOC membership number and your real name. These are not visible to anyone apart from Administrators of the forum, bit if you can spend 1 minute updating these, it will be to your advantage :D

When the new website comes online (shortly), you will be able to access the members section by means of your forum login IF you are a member, instead of using the login provided in Slice. As the new website and the forum gains more information, features and articles, then these will be instantly available for you as part of your RSSOC membership experience. This won't happen immediately, but will be a gradual move with the most useful snippets of information instantly accessible to RSSOC members.

Your RSSOC membership will be recognised on the forum with a tag of "RSSOC Member".

To those who have already added their number to their signature, can I ask that you complete the new fields as well as these are what will be picked up to enable your membership of the new group of "RSSOC Member".

Many Thanks,

Phil

BUMP again

I've just had a very quick scan through those not yet registered as members on here and found some very familiar faces who are very definitely members, e.g.

BigBobDriver
MrGoldTop
PeterFreeman
Raz
CrouchieB
BandT1989
HeathSabre
etc
etc

Come on chaps, the more people who add their membership to their profiles, the more encouraging it'll be to non members to join and the more reason it will give the webteam to add more to the members section

Your RSSOC needs You!!!!

cheers, Matt

Just a reminder to some of you (well, lots it seems this month.) - renewal of your membership is needed to remain an RSSOC Member. I was about to do the update last night and some of you are about to lose your status. Must be the cutoff between your renewal notice and you actually renewing....

You have a weeks grace  ...and the Shop tab is now at the top of the page

if you update your profile (and its at the rate of about 3 or 4 a week 8) ), please note that its not an automatic process - I have to do it manually! If there is a slight delay (more than 24 hours), then it may be because you are a new (or delayed renewal) member and it needs to be checked with the Club Secretary.

If your status hasn't changed within this time, please PM me..as we've had the odd glitch which whilst doesn't appear to be with our website, its how some PCs process it. We haven't managed to track down the real reason for it, but have a workaround in place which can fix it.

Oh - and it needs to be a current membership....
