I can bring it down to curbs no problem. Will it fit in the back of a 6a? If so I can pick it up tonight. If it won't fit I am afraid I can't pick it up at all as I have no time tomorrow to collect.

It won't fit in a GTE I'm afraid. Renault scenic or mk1 Freelander are the only vehicles I've found so far with a big enough hatch opening. Mercedes e class estates (S210/211) or c class (S202/203) won't take one either :-)

Obviously the simplest way is to bolt it onto an SS1 :D

thanks Jim, good idea. Suppose you are not thinking of driving one of your SS1's to Liverpool?

Drop the soft top frame off the 2 hinge bolts on the B pillar (when in the down position) and you can fit the hardtop sitting on top of the hood whilst still attached at the back. You might be Ok not moving the soft top seal either (been a while)?

I can pick it up from them at 4pm today or tomorrow at 8.30. Just found out we need bubblewrap and we buy it from next door to them!

it won't fit in my 6a but now that I need to go next door for work, i can use a works van!
I'm coming to curbs in an ss1 and a vito van so no problem getting it down there.
If you can arrange for tomorrow morning at 8.30 that would be great!

Hi,
I have tried to call Danny at DW but he is not answering on either his land line - 01519339439- or his mobile - 07435966844.
He told me before that he works from 9 til 5 on Monday To Friday so he is probably not there now.
I will try him tomorrow but as you are going there at 8.30 it might be too early unfortunately.
If he is there the hardtop is under my name, Geoff Corderoy.
If you need to speak to me I am on 07976737078.
Thanks
Geoff

Latest news, Danny just phoned and said he should be there at 8.30 tomorrow. Can you phone him when you arrive.
Is there anything I can do in return? Any parts you need for your SS1? Or can I reimburse you for petrol?

If you're at the breakers yard I would suggest it's worth getting the rear wings or at least the inners from the D reg red SS1 being broken. They are from a galv car and hence the later molding with greater width. Nice to have the extra bit of clearance especially if running wider wheels!

Ade,
hopefully you still have a few bits to pop in the van that I shall finally free you of!
