Hi,

I'm in Dudley, and although I wouldn't claim to have the most specialist knowledge, I'm keen enough, have reasonable problem solving skills and a few tools :)

Mike.

Hi all,

I'm at RAF Linton-on-Ouse (for the next six months anyway!) near York, and am happy to help where needed but I'm not exactly a Scimitar specialist! Pretty good mechanically anyway and have access to a lot of tools, storage, four post lift and my own car trailer... I travel down to Loughborough quite a bit as I instruct part-time at Prestwold, and am generally off racing 'somewhere around the UK' once a month if not more.

Regards,

Si

I live in Andover.

I'm not much help with anything mechanical, other than as an extra pair of hands/eyes. I do odd jobs myself, but nothing much more than spark plugs etc due mainly to a lack of time and space. My specialist skills are locations of bakeries, burger vans, cafes etc. I have a small van with a roof rack for ferrying things around, I have a tow bar on the scimitar (6a) so should be able to tow a trailer once it's MOT'd and road worthy. I also have a motorbike if it's of any help!

I do tend to get about the country a little, covering mostly Wiltshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire in my quest as an electrician.

Hi my names Andy, and I'm based in walthamstow in east London, I own a se5 don't e any storage space unfortunately, but am happy to help out all I can. I have only had the scimitar a year, but also own a Morris minor that I has had many a job done including a roadside top engine rebuild.

I also end up around the Peterborough area as my girlfriends family are from there, and can be seen in the Bristol / Weston -super -mare area when I visit home when ever I get the chance.

If I can I'm happy to be of help.

Hello everyone!

I am brand new to your site and am in need of help. I have just purchased a Scimitar Se5a with my dad which has pretty much been restored but has not been put back together (currently in kit form! :-) We are both mechanics and so have access to most tools and equipment needed for any project and also have numerous workshop manuals for the vehicle but would be greatly appreciative if there was someone in or close to the Bedfordshire/Buckinghamshire area to let use pop over and have look at a fully working example so we can actually see where things are supposed to go and most importantly find out where all these wires go!

Any info would be of great help and if anybody lives too far away but fancy's taking a couple of under bonnet pics of their Se5a and forwarding them on to scottharris40@hotmail.co.uk that would be a start.

Thanks. Scott.

Hi Scott

you would be best deleting this post and popping it in either the model location that you own - or Scimaritans where Im sure you will get more responses.
Also - announce yourself in the new member area too.
Good luck and welcome.

Victor. Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Regular trips to Birmingham so anywhere around there, M6, M42, M5 etc. Bristol is near too. I have a good solid trailer for carrying stuff and if needed I have a temporary space on my drive for 1 car until you can collect.

Scimitar GTE SE6a 1978. A range of MG Rover cars too.

Heathrowsteve........ Steve near Heathrow as the name suggests. Garage full of tools, bags of enthusiasm, and will tackle most service work and mods. SS1 owner and can usually be recognized via my feet attached to the rest of my body hidden underneath my car somewhere. My partner Donna occasionally pops in from the kitchen to see if I am still alive and leaves a cup of tea on the floor at the side of the car. If it goes cold within an hour then I have fallen asleep under there or have silently passed away (doing something I love at least anyway). Let me know if you are local and feel free to drop in for a natter/cuppa

Hi, I am Dave / David
My user name stems from my GT4 days as my initials are DT, pathetic eh !!
I know lots about GT4's having rebuilt a few and tracked a couple and run in a sprint series with one, I know a bit about UR quatro's having restored one and I know nowt about Scimitars especially SS1's
I have a garage, a very understanding partner, Jacqueline and I love working on cars and making them better than when I got them.
Happy to help transporting or acting as a drop off point.

Just realised that I have not posted here

Regular trips to Chapel-en-le Frith for Noggins and Coventry, St Albans and Brighton on family journeys. If you have anything to collect not too far off route let me know. I also sprint my Sabre TI so could collect parts at events provided they are not too big.

I have owned SS1 1600, SS1 Ti, Sabre Ti, 6a and 5a so reasonable model knowledge but not like some of the guys on her

If you break down near Junction 17 of the M6 give me a shout if you need any tools, parts etc as I have a reasonably equipped albeit untidy garage.
