Classic Car Weekly photoshoot and report - Coming soon!

Post by MrGoldtop1960 » Mon Aug 13, 2018 10:05 pm

Evening All,
Please keep an eye out at your local news stand for Classic Car Weekly in a few weeks time for a report and photos featuring my 5a.
I got approached by a CCW journalist at The Silverstone Classic a few weeks ago and he was very interested in the marque and wanted to get a better insight into the Club, Curborough and the GTE’s 50th Anniversary.
So, not wishing to turn down the chance of getting my car in a national classic car publication, we arranged a date and location for a photographer to take a series of static and panning shots together with interior shots.
Not seen anything yet, but the photographer seemed very pleased with the results!
The journalist interviewed me over a spot of lunch and covered many aspects of ownership, restoration, maintenance, differences between 5’s and 6’s etc etc...

Will give everybody the heads up when the article is due out but for for now I think it’s going to be end August/early September.
Cheers
Kev O

I see the "Nick Larkin meets GTE Owners" sub-line - was that from his attendance at Curbs for the 50th display?

Hi Phil, yup! He should have got some photos of the line up and met with a few owners. He interviewed the “newlyweds” as well and took some photos of them and the car I think! :D

Cheers

I do recall him chatting to the newlyweds - hence wondered if the Subtle Sports 1 had made the press too! Might have to investigate at a newsagents..

Just had a read of it (Readly app is marvellous :D) - generally pretty accurate (which is refreshing to see) with good quotes from our esteemed Registrar. Good plug for the RSSOC as well.

Good to see the pricing is sensible too - usable £1500-2500, good £2500-4000 and concours 4-5k (although I wouldn't treat 5k as a limit).
