Yellow GTC -Hedge End

Post by MrGoldtop1960 » Sun Dec 17, 2017 11:49 am

Morning All,
Just spotted a tidy yellow GTC sporting a hard top in Hedge End whilst out on a pre-Chrimbo dump run! Reg number KKR 381V. Does anyone know the car as I don’t know it as a local?
Cheers
Kev O

That will be Mike (Coastline), who I think you may have spoken to recently? :)

Good to see you and the car out and about, Mike :D
I'm familiar with the Solent Renegades, as they usually have a strong contingent at Southern Classics Tangmere/Chichester shows :)

Thanks Roger. They are a great bunch. We met up on Portsdown Hill. Great views of Portsmouth, Hayling Island an the Isle of Wight from there. Plus Mick's Burger van that is open 24/7. I asked who came in the early hours. Apparently the police and ambulance crews call in as well as those who have been out late and looking for a cuppa and something to eat.

Mr Bumble as the yellow GTC is called, is in the workshop again for further work on the throttle linkage, it is better after the last session but not perfect. We'll also take a look at the overdrive again too, very intermittent yesterday.

Hi Kev,
Look forward to meeting later.
I'll be in the GTC. which is just out of the workshop with the throttle linkage now very smooth. Overdrive not so. The gearbox was drained of thick sludge and some nasty looking stuff. Filter cleaned and new oil, new solenoid, connections checked but still intermittent overdrive.
See you at 8pm.
Cheers
Mike
