I had a Peugeot 1.6 309 Sri that was messed about with. It would really ruin a 205 gti/309gti owners day. It was dressed up as a gti. Great car but had an issue where it wouldn't start off the starter when warm I had to bump start it, even after replacing the starter the cabling to it and everything on that side.
I also drove a great number of corrados when I worked for vw and they are fantastic I especially lived the g60 and the vr6 (would really love to own one!!)

I agree with the Scim being No1 - Saw the TVR last weekend so someone remembers them - mind you there were 5 Scims present as well.

Similar survey in a spanish magazine (estates & shooting brakes only) ... this time the GTE reaches 6th position / 10

Well spotted Fred.
This time the theme is 'best estate cars in history'.
Their opinion is rather arbitrary, the Volvo P1800ES is 2nd and a crappy Audi is 1st
Also I didn't know the GTE chassis benefitted from development by Formula 1 experts ...

not sure about "chassis" but technically I suppose it had Alford & Adler suspension since the Sabre 6 - and they were used on F1 cars?

Chris, you need to read up on the story of the GTE's chassis designer and Reliant Chief Engineer, John Crosthwaite, who had F1 and Indy 500 experience with people like Lotus, BRM, and Mickey Thompson. He has his own Wikipedia page here
